Job summary

Staffmark Group is hiring a Slitter Machine Operator in Crystal Lake, IL. The role requires operating slitting machinery, performing setup and changeovers, and maintaining product quality in a fast-paced environment.

The position offers a 2:00 PM–10:30 PM schedule, with pay ranging from $20.00 to $22.00 per hour. Candidates should have at least one year of manufacturing experience and be willing to learn and train within ISO-compliant processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing machine operator experience.
• Minimum 2 years of complex mechanical experience.
• Experience with machine setup, changeovers, and troubleshooting.
• Complex motor vehicle repair experience may be considered in place of machine operator experience.
• Previous ISO experience in manufacturing or light industrial environment preferred.
• Laminate, packaging, or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate slitting machinery safely and efficiently.
• Perform machine setup and changeovers according to production requirements.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and make necessary adjustments.
• Measure materials accurately using a standard ruler to 1/16th of an inch.
• Monitor product quality and production output.
• Move and handle large rolls of materials using equipment.
• Follow ISO standards and company quality procedures.
• Complete production documentation and reports as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous machine operation, manufacturing, production, or industrial experience is preferred.
• Experience performing machine setup, tooling changes, troubleshooting, or preventative maintenance is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, quality systems, or continuous improvement practices is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate mechanical ability, reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to quality are well positioned for success as a Slitter Machine Operator.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 65 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment while maintaining awareness of moving machinery.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
