Job summary

PTC is seeking a hardworking Slitting Operator in Liberty, TX to stage coils, feed strips to the un-coiler, and control edges during slitting. You will log master coil details and maintain production records, ensuring alignment with quality standards.

Requires 2+ years in manufacturing, high school education, and ability to operate forklift and crane. Candidates should be reliable, safety‑minded, and able to work variable shifts in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School or equivalent.
  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to read and follow instructions and operate within safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Keep mill supplied with slit coils and maintain production flow.
  • Record strip gauge and monitor quality checks.
  • Operate coil car and position coil on un-coiler.
  • Check coils for heat, grade, gauge, width and supplier details.
  • Fill out coil production reports and notify supervisor of issues.
  • Assist in roll changes and machine breakdowns.
  • Identify quality problems in material and maintain a clean work area.
  • Follow safe work procedures and use forklift/crane as trained.

Job Summary

Stage coils in sequence to be slit, load coils onto un-coiler and feed strip up to arbor, control strip edges during the slitting process, record in sequence the master coil being slit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for keeping Mill supplied with slit coils.
  • Record strip gauge.
  • Operate coil car and turn coil to lean on un-coiler.
  • Check all coils for proper specifications. (heat, grade, gauge, width, supplier)
  • Fill out coil production report.
  • Notify production supervisor of any problems with equipment or production.
  • Assist in roll changes and breakdowns.
  • Identify any quality problems in material.
  • Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly/
  • Maintain safe work procedures.

Must strip width of various sizes. Operate Forklift & Overhead Crane.
