Job summary

PTC Liberty, TX is seeking a Heat Treat Lead to oversee daily operations of the Heat Treat Department, ensuring quality products, safe practices, and efficient processes. You’ll provide leadership and clear communication to Heat Treat personnel and related areas.

The role emphasizes equipment readiness, adherence to procedures, and collaboration with maintenance to drive continuous improvement in heat-treat operations.

Qualifications

• Language: read/understand simple instructions & memos; write reports and procedures.
• Math: basic arithmetic, rates, ratios, percents; interpret graphs.
• Reasoning: apply common sense to follow instructions; solve problems.
• Other: proficient with Word/Excel and ERP/e-mail systems.

Job Description

The Heat Treat lead provides process direction to the operational activities of the Heat Treat Department with the objective of providing quality products with efficient and safe efforts; as well as day-to-day leadership and good communication to all Heat Treat personnel, in addition to any other assigned departments.

Responsibilities

• Verifying equipment is set up properly
• Verifying personnel are performing tasks properly and following procedures
• Ensure safety procedures are being followed
• Ensure a clean working area is maintained
• Work with maintenance to continuously improve equipment and plan projects
• Communicating quality issues to the quality supervisor
• Help operators with changeovers and perform maintenance
• Making sure the equipment is ready for the upcoming product
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues to keep equipment running
• Cover personnel's vacations or call-offs.

Operation and basic maintenance of gas-powered industrial furnaces. Familiarity with API 5CT products preferred. Must demonstrate familiarity with care and operation of basic gauges and measurement devices. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
