Job Summary

Manage and coordinate scheduling for Line Leads and Production Associates to ensure efficient and cost-effective production line operations. Collaborate with the Plant HR Department to address employment issues, including scheduling conflicts, employee disputes, workplace investigations, and other related matters.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare employee work schedules and assign duties to meet production deadlines, emphasizing safety and efficiency.
  • Manage and review all time away from work (TAFW) requests to ensure staffing needs are met.
  • Coordinate with Plant HR to adjust schedules as needed for production requirements.
  • Train, motivate, and guide team members to promote growth and improve overall team efficacy.
  • Assess employee strengths and weaknesses to optimize placement on production lines.
  • Ensure raw materials inventory meets production needs.
  • Work with HR to resolve labor relations issues impacting production staff.
  • Track and analyze downtime issues to identify and address root causes.
  • Address employee disputes to foster a safe and cooperative work environment, involving management or HR as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Union Representatives to maintain positive relations with union employees.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Support safety, food quality, and sanitation initiatives.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of supervision or management experience, preferably in food processing.
  • No specific certification or licensure required.
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing regulations, including USDA standards and GMP.
  • Ability to understand and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Active listening skills to address production issues.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and review materials.
  • Critical thinking to evaluate solutions and approaches.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and lead teams in high-speed environments.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and planning skills.
Other Requirements

No unusual physical demands; primarily sitting with some standing, walking, and light physical activity. Occasional movement of items under 15 lbs and some travel between plants may be required.

Work Environment

Most work occurs indoors in a comfortable, office-like setting, with some work in manufacturing areas near machinery. Safety gear such as hard hats, hairnets, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and coats are required. Limited outdoor work is involved.
