Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. is seeking a production teammate for the 2nd shift in Newbern, TN. You will operate machinery to ensure the continuous flow of product and verify ingredients on the line, while adjusting settings as needed and reporting maintenance needs. Safety and Tyson policies must be followed.

Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, standing on concrete for up to 8 hours in temperatures at or below 35°F, and performing grip-related tasks. Internal transfer only from this facility.

Qualifications

• Must have basic math skills.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work on and around machinery and chemicals.
• Must be able to perform 8 hours of work on concrete floor (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, lifting).
• Must be able to work in temperatures ≤ 35°F for at least 8 hours.
• Must be willing to pinch/grip product and place into specified location.
• This position is slated for team members currently working at this facility or complex only.
• Team members may transfer into this position via their local HR Partner.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery to ensure continuous flow of product through the production process and ensure proper ingredients on the line.
• Monitor and adjust machine settings as needed and notify supervisor if maintenance is required while maintaining safety and adhering to Tyson policies.

Job Description:

• This position is responsible for operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of product thru the production process and insuring proper ingredients/supplies are being used on the line.
• Responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying supervisor if machines should require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

• Must have basic math skills.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work on and around machinery and chemicals.
• Must be able to perform the following task for periods of 8 hours on concrete floor, some of which may include but is not limited to standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting.
• Must be able to work in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees Fahrenheit temperature for minimum of 8 hours.
• Must be willing to pinch/grip product and place into specified location.
• This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only.
• Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner
• Must not have more than 4 attendance occurrences. Must not have a disciplinary suspension on file in the past 6 months. Must be in your current position for a minimum of six (6) months unless this job is a higher class than you currently hold.
