Prime Healthcare’s Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL is seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist to support the Sleep Laboratory. This full-time role requires nights shifts and a 12-hour schedule, with per diem availability as needed for coverage.

The candidate conducts sleep studies, scores sleep stages, administers CPAP therapy, and collaborates with physicians and nurses to optimize patient care.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS (AHA) certification required on hire and maintained.
• Completion of AASM A-STEP with eligible for board certification/registry.
• Recent grads must obtain certification/registry within 6 months of hire or program completion.
• Student techs must obtain certification/registry within 6 months of graduation.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare the sleep lab, review patient history and orders, and educate patients on the process.
• Apply sensors to monitor brain, heart, muscles, eyes, and respiration while ensuring safety and data quality.
• Observe sleep-related events and respond to apneas or desaturations during studies.
• Record and score sleep stages and respiratory events for physician interpretation.
• Initiate and adjust CPAP/BiPAP/ASV therapy and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
• Collaborate with care team and educate patients on sleep disorders and therapy compliance.
