Qualifications
Validation of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
Must be a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT).
Must have CPR certification.
Minimum of one year as a Sleep Technologist.
Responsibilities
Perform nighttime and daytime sleep studies including NPSG, CPAP titration.
Perform physiological calibrations to ensure proper signals.
Ensure signals are free of artifact during studies.
Document routine observations during sleep studies.
Perform operational checks prior to initiating sleep studies.
Attach electrodes and transducers to patients before studies.
Score sleep/wake stages and present scoring to Clinical Director.
Implement interventions like O2 therapy according to policy.
Fit and educate patients on positive airway pressure interface.
Clean non-disposable equipment after sleep studies.
Comply with all safety and infection control regulations.
Recognize and respond to cardiac emergencies.
