Job summary

UAB Medicine’s Sleep Center seeks a sleep technologist for night shifts (Tue, Wed, Thu, 6pm–6:30am) at UAB St. Vincent's East. You will conduct basic and advanced sleep studies, interview patients, and ensure proper setup and testing procedures.

Responsibilities include monitoring patients, scoring studies, and reporting results while maintaining testing equipment and handling repairs as needed. Valid sleep certifications required (RPSGT/BRPT/ABSM).

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days of hire required.
• RPSGT with BRPT or Sleep Tech with ABSM certification required.
• Associate/Technical degree or equivalent experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient and equipment for testing and explain procedures.
• Perform and document sleep testing, monitor patient, resolve issues.
• Score, interpret and report sleep study results.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment; report repairs.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Associate's/Technical degree

4 years of applicable cumulative job experience

BLS Provider certification (within 1 month)

RPSGT with BRPT or ABSM certification
