Job summary

Fairview Range is seeking a Sleep Technician to join our Sleep Lab team in Hibbing, MN. The role involves diagnosing and treating sleep disorders by conducting studies, monitoring patients, and analyzing data under supervision of the medical director or designee.

The position requires working 72-80 hours per two weeks with 12-hour night shifts, on-site coverage in Hibbing and Grand Rapids. Responsibilities include equipment preparation, data scoring, and post-test follow-up to support patient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification or within 3 months of hire and maintain it.

Responsibilities

• Perform PAP mask desensitization as necessary.

Job Overview

Fairview Range is hiring a Sleep Technician to join our Sleep Lab team in Hibbing, MN.

As a Sleep Technician, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders in patients. Working under the supervision of the medical director (MD, PhD, DO) or designee, you will be responsible for conducting various sleep studies, monitoring patients during sleep, and analyzing data to assist in the diagnosis and treatment planning. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to improving the quality of life for individuals suffering from sleep-related issues.

Schedule

This position will work 72-80 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 12-hours on the Night shift. Weekends: As Needed

This position will support both Fairview Range and Grand Itasca and does require working on-site in both Hibbing and Grand Rapids.

As a Sleep Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Gathering and analyzing patient information and history.
• Explaining pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures to the patient.
• Preparing and calibrating equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and making adjustments if necessary.
• Performing routine positive airway pressure (PAP) mask desensitization procedure, as necessary.
• Continuously monitoring patients' sleep patterns, vital signs, and responses to interventions during the sleep study, making real-time adjustments as necessary.
• Accurately recording and documenting data following procedural protocols.
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
• Scoring polysomnographic records.
• Performing post-test follow up.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS or obtains within 3 months of hire and maintains.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of polysomnography training program or associate's degree in health sciences field with emphasis on polysomnography.
• Prior experience as a Sleep Technician or in a related healthcare role.
• RSGT + CRT or RRT; or REEGT
• CPSGT
