Job summary

Summit Health seeks a Registered Polysomnographic Tech in New Jersey to perform sleep study preparations, electrode placement, and monitoring during PSG sessions. The role requires NJ licensure, BCLS, and RPSGT eligibility or preference, with emphasis on patient safety and accurate documentation.

The technician will handle equipment calibration, data collection for reports, and participate in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• RPSGT eligible required (18 months sleep experience); RPSGT preferred.
• Must hold and maintain active NJ Polysomnography Technologist license.
• Active Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) is required.
• Maintains BLS for Healthcare Provider or CPR/AED credentials.
• 1–18 months sleep experience as per facility policy.

Responsibilities

• Review patient data and prepare for PSG.
• Hook patient up with electrodes and monitor equipment for PSG.
• Monitor patients during PSG and document every 30 minutes.
• Administer oxygen and PAP therapy per protocol; perform advanced sleep studies if needed.
• Document post-PSG findings and interpretation dates.
• Maintain equipment, remove electrodes after PSG, and ensure infection control.
