Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Polysomnographic Tech Assistant to support the Sleep Medicine Center. You will assist Technologists in acquiring sleep studies, maintain patient safety, and help ensure smooth workflow within the unit.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, a high school diploma, and Basic Life Support certification, with training to transition into a Technologist role through AASM modules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in acquiring Polysomnography studies alongside Polysomnographic Technologists.
• Ensure signals are clear from artifacts at all times.
• Report patient concerns and changes to technologists.
• Disconnect electrodes and clean equipment after each study.
• Restock supplies and clean equipment per area policy.
• Support patient flow and collaborate with team toward unit goals.
• Complete 25 AASM self-study modules.
• Perform duties with a service focus on innovation and teamwork.
• Other duties as assigned.
