Job summary

Lurie Children’s Hospital is seeking a Polysomnographic Tech Assistant to support the Sleep Medicine Center. You will assist technologists with sleep studies, maintain signal quality, and help manage patient flow in a team-oriented environment.

Active participation in an intensive Polysomnography training program is required, including AASM online learning modules and internal competencies to transition into a technologist role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification required (BLS).
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work with hospital staff and patients.
• Comfort with computer basics and Windows.

Responsibilities

• Assist polysomnographic technologists with sleep study setup and data collection.
• Ensure signals are clear of artifacts during acquisition.
• Report patient concerns to technologists and help monitor changes.
• Disinfect and remove equipment after studies; restock supplies.
• Support patient flow and cooperative teamwork in the Sleep Medicine Center.
• Complete AASM self-study modules as part of training.
