Job summary

St. Mary's Medical Center Inc. in Huntington, WV seeks a PSG Technologist I for the Neurophysiology Sleep Center. This part-time role performs sleep study procedures under supervision, supporting physicians and ensuring high-quality testing.

You’ll work with diverse patients, from neonatal to geriatric, applying electrodes, calibrating equipment, and documenting findings per hospital policy. CPR certification required within one month of hire and ongoing education is encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Preferred: completion of accredited sleep technology or respiratory therapy program with an associate degree.
• Or an associate or bachelor’s degree in science-related field.
• Completion of basic competencies for assigned modality within 90 days of hire.
• CPR certification within one month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs PSG technology procedures under supervision with appropriate oversight.
• Demonstrates knowledge of neurologic and cardio-respiratory anatomy and physiology.
• Calibrates equipment, troubleshoots problems, and makes adjustments as necessary.
• Competent in electrode/sensor application techniques for all ages.
• Recognizes and responds to patients' medical needs and physiological events.
• Prepares testing setup and ensures patient safety and wellbeing.
• Obtains clinically relevant information from patient/family and documents for physician review.
• Provides patient education before, during and after testing procedures.
