Carnegie is seeking an Enrollment Data Specialist to build and maintain reports and dashboards in Technolutions Slate, with a focus on enrollment insights and slate portals. You will own complex queries, data transfers, and client-facing reporting tools, turning data into actionable insights for leaders.

The role emphasizes remote collaboration, strong data modeling skills, and experience with Slate’s Upload Dataset tool and portals. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of intermediate to advanced, hands-on experience in Technolutions Slate, with proven depth in the Queries, Reports, and Upload Dataset modules.
• Strong working knowledge of Slate’s underlying relational data structure and field mappings.
• Experience manipulating large data files and conducting segmentation marketing analysis.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize advanced queries, reports, and dynamic displays within Slate’s Reports and Portals modules.
• Maintain, update, and troubleshoot templated client portals.
• Create, maintain, and optimize materialized view queries and query libraries in Slate to keep data-heavy dashboards and recurring reports fast.
• Serve as the frontline troubleshooter for reporting logic errors, custom calculation breakdowns, and relational data mismatches.
• Turn longitudinal enrollment metrics into clear, executive-ready reporting tools for institutional leaders.
• Manage search data pipelines, historical benchmarks, and data transfers across client- and Carnegie-hosted Slate instances.
• Support source list purchasing across external vendor interfaces based on set segmentation parameters.
• Import, map, and validate student list data using Slate’s Upload Dataset tool to maintain data integrity and prevent downstream errors.
• Coordinate data delivery schedules with Data Leads, Account Managers, and Slate Strategists to support campaign execution.
• Diagnose and resolve data structure issues, inefficient queries, and portal configuration bugs across client instances.
• Partner with Data Science and Strategy teams to bring predictive scores, affinity indicators, and external market benchmarks into standard client views.
• Spot operational bottlenecks and build reusable query templates and documentation that help the team work faster.
• Complete other data reviews and Slate consultation projects as assigned.
• Assist with competitive intelligence projects and research.

Job description

The Slate Enrollment Data Specialist builds and maintains the reports and dashboards behind our enrollment insights. Most of this role is reporting and dashboard work in Technolutions Slate, with Student Search operations as a supporting piece.

You’ll build Slate Reports and maintain interactive Slate Portals, including our proprietary Carnegie Enrollment Dashboards and EnGauge Dashboard. If you know Slate data structures well, enjoy writing complex queries, have a natural troubleshooting mindset, and want to turn complex higher education data into insights clients can use, this role is for you.

What You’ll Own

  • Spot operational bottlenecks and build reusable query templates and documentation that help the team work faster.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of intermediate to advanced, hands-on experience in Technolutions Slate, with proven depth in the Queries, Reports, and Upload Dataset modules
• Strong working knowledge of Slate’s underlying relational data structure and field mappings
• Experience with Slate Portals a plus
• Experience in higher education, preferably within enrollment
• Experience manipulating large data files and conducting segmentation marketing analysis
• Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail, multitasking, prioritization, and decision-making
• Great interpersonal skills and a desire to contribute on internal and client-facing strategy calls
• Clear communication and time management skills in a remote environment, including comfort switching between multiple tech platforms
• Curiosity about data challenges, both broad and specific to the college admissions market
• Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods

Compensation
