Job summary

Waterfront Rescue Mission in Mobile, AL, is seeking a Chaplain (Skills and Pathways) to provide compassionate, faith-based guidance and case management for clients in recovery programs. The role focuses on applying Biblical principles to daily living and supporting independent living outcomes.

The chaplain will collaborate with the Mission Director and Ministry Management Team, conduct Chapel and Bible studies, and promote confidentiality and safety in all interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Endorsement from a recognized Christian body preferred.
• Minimum of two years experience as a pastor, teacher or lay leader.
• Must have the ability to write routine reports and present scripture.
• Must maintain client confidentiality.
• Must be able to interact with individuals struggling with addiction and recovery.
• Must sign and align with the Mission's Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized service plans focused on personal development, education, employment, financial stability, and transition to independence.
• Provide ongoing case management, assess progress, identify barriers, and coordinate resources.
• Offer education and employment counseling, including helping clients identify education, vocational, and workforce-training opportunities.
• Advise clients on public benefits and community resources; assist with applications and follow-up.
• Build relationships with workforce partners, employers, churches, and community organizations to expand opportunities.
• Provide Biblical counsel and spiritual guidance in alignment with the Mission's purpose.
