Job summary

Ottenweller Company Inc. is seeking a skilled welder to fabricate metal component parts of varying thicknesses according to blueprints, plans, and specifications.

The role includes planning jobs, setting up equipment, loading pieces, and MIG welding, with occasional arc welding as needed. You will inspect weld quality with calipers and gauges, perform finish work with grinders and torches, and carry out routine machine maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of mig welding experience or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to pass weld test.
• Basic blueprint knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Plan job by determining from the router and blueprints, equipment, fixtures, material and supplies needed.
• Set up job by retrieving equipment and materials as needed.
• Load and unload pieces in and out of fixture, position and clamp pieces, operate mig welding machine and may arc weld.
• Finish or repair part with sanders, grinders, and torches.
• Perform first piece and in-process inspection of welds using calipers and gauges.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on welding machines.
