Job summary

Ottenweller Company, Inc. in Mount Airy, NC seeks a skilled Welder to join our fabrication team. You will weld metal components to specified dimensions on simple jobs, interpret blueprints, set up equipment, and use MIG and arc welding processes.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, at least one year MIG welding experience, basic blueprint knowledge, and be able to pass a weld test. This is a full-time, onsite position with exposure to heat and fumes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1 year MIG welding experience or training.
• Basic blueprint knowledge and ability to pass weld test.
• Ability to plan, setup, and operate welding equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Plan jobs by determining equipment, fixtures, materials, and supplies needed.
• Set up job by retrieving equipment and materials as needed.
• Load and unload pieces, position and clamp into fixtures, and operate MIG/arc welders.
• Finish or repair parts using grinders, sanders, and torches.
• Perform first piece and in-process inspection of weld quality per blueprint.
