Meyer Utility Structures in Clinton, IL seeks skilled Welders to join its utility pole manufacturing plant. The qualified candidate will perform welding, plan sequences of operation, and ensure accurate setup using face blocks, jigs, and fixtures.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret drawings and travelers are essential. Responsibilities include locating centerlines, moving and aligning parts, removing high spots, beveling, tightening braces and clamps, and using a transit for

Competenze

• 2+ years of welding experience - combined experience and/or school.
• Read measuring devices, interpret drawings, and tack weld components in appropriate locations based on drawings and travelers.
• Conceptually understand how drawings translate to actual work.
• Ability to maintain good attendance.

Mansioni

• Plan sequences of operation and set up face block, jigs, and fixtures.
• Locate and mark centerlines and reference points onto floor or face block and transposes them to workpieces.
• Move and align parts into position.
• Remove high spots and cut bevels.
• Straighten warped or bent parts.
• Position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, bolt straps, or bolt parts in positions for welding or riveting.
• Use transit to locate reference points and erect ladders and scaffolding to fit together large assemblies.
