Meyer Utility Structures in Clinton, IL is seeking a Welder to join our utility pole manufacturing plant. You will plan sequences of operation, set up jigs and fixtures, and accurately weld components per drawings to build large assemblies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of welding experience (school or on-the-job).
• Able to read measuring devices, interpret drawings, and tack weld components per travelers.

Responsibilities

• Plan sequences of operation and set up jigs and fixtures.
• Locate centerlines and reference points onto floor or face block and transfer to workpieces.
• Move and align parts into position; remove high spots and bevels.
• Straighten warped or bent parts; position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes for welding or riveting.
• Use transit to locate reference points and erect ladders/scaffolding for large assemblies.
