Job summary

Continental Tide Defense Systems, Inc. in National City, CA, is seeking a Welder III with extensive shipyard experience to perform complex welding tasks supporting Navy and commercial projects.

The role requires reading drawings, fabricating and installing pipe and structural components, and ensuring welds meet NAVSEA, ABS, and AWS standards.

This on-site position offers growth in a fast-paced maritime environment with emphasis on quality workmanship and safety.

Qualifications

• High school or trade/vocational diploma required.
• 10+ years of ship repair and HM&E systems installation experience.
• Ability to read ship installation drawings and NAVSEA standards.
• Ability to obtain SECRET clearance.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Experience with welding certifications or ability to obtain.
• English reading/writing proficiency for job instructions.

Responsibilities

• Join, fabricate, and repair metal using appropriate welding techniques.
• Weld pipes, structures, and fittings for shipboard systems.
• Interpret blueprints and schematics to select welding process.
• Inspect welds for quality against NAVSEA, ABS & AWS standards.
• Operate SMAW, GMAW, GTAW and oxy-fuel equipment.
• Lead technical project teams and report progress to leadership.
• Document quality evidence on company forms.
