Job summary

Continental Tide Defense Systems, Inc. in San Diego, CA seeks an experienced Welder II to join our Fleet Services Group for ship repair, modernization, and Alteration Installation Team projects.

The role requires welding across SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW processes, alignment with NAVSEA and ABS standards, and mentoring of junior welders while maintaining safety and quality on challenging Navy contracts.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of direct experience in ship repair and HM&E systems.
• Ability to read and interpret ship installation drawings and NAVSEA Standard Items.
• Must possess or be able to obtain SECRET clearance.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Join, fabricate, and repair metal using approved welding techniques.
• Repair/modify/install pipes, structures, foundations and fittings on ship systems.
• Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and NAVSEA standards to select welding processes.
• Inspect welds for structural soundness and compliance with standards.
• Mentor less-experienced welders and share safety best practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe work environment.
