Job summary

University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff's Motor Pool is seeking an experienced auto mechanic to maintain all automotive and mechanical equipment in good operating condition.

Qualifying candidates must have ASE Certification, 5+ years as a journeyman auto mechanic, and a valid AR Driver’s License/CDL. Training in auto electronics, transmissions, and welding is preferred, with safety procedures for hazardous materials emphasized.

• Minimum of 2 years training at an auto mechanic technical school.
• Must have ASE Certification
• Must have a valid AR Driver’s License /CDL
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a journeyman auto mechanic at a dealership garage or equivalent.
• Completion of current auto trade extension courses on items such as: auto electronics, transmissions, air conditioning, differentials, brakes, and other related subjects.
• Experience in diesel mechanics is welcomed.
• Ability to keep service records up-to-date.
• Training and experience in oxy-acetylene and arc welding.
• Should have knowledge of safety procedures related to hazardous materials.
