Job summary

AutoNation is hiring a Non-Certified Technician to inspect and service vehicles as they arrive at the dealer. You will perform safety checks, identify defects, and execute minor repairs to ensure saleable condition.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, manual transmission experience, and the ability to use hand tools and testing equipment. We offer paid training, OEM certification support, and opportunities to grow into Service, Sales, Management roles across a nationwide network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6–12 months of previous work experience.
• General mechanical skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
• Manual dexterity, good judgment and ability to operate power and hand tools and other types of machinery safely.

Responsibilities

• Sign an acceptance for each vehicle delivered.
• Inspect vehicles for safety compliance and defects.
• Inspect surfaces for chips and scratches in paint.
• Start engine and test steering, brakes, transmission and engine operation.
• Install or repair minor and optional equipment per customer/Dealer specifications.
