Job summary

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, a valid Texas driver’s license, and at least three years of painting experience, with the ability to work independently in a busy school environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Texas driver's license and eligibility to drive per DPS guidelines.
• Knowledge of painting trades, materials, and color matching.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively.
• Three years of painting experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes.
• Protect non-target surfaces and set up drop cloths and coverings.
• Apply paint using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment for even coatings.
• Stain, seal, and varnish wood surfaces as required.
• Erect scaffolding or ladders to access high areas.
• Deliver painting supplies and maintain records of materials used.
• Inspect completed work and coordinate with building staff.
• Maintain safety procedures and proper disposal of chemicals.
• Assist foreman with work orders and project pricing.
