The ideal candidate has 2+ years in auto/diesel mechanics, relevant CDL/ASE credentials, and the tools to service large buses. Duties include inspections, recordkeeping, and adherence to district policies in a full-time on-site role.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Obtain / Maintain Oklahoma Class B CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements.
• Obtain / Maintain Oklahoma State Department of Education school bus driver certificate.
• Obtain / Maintain current ASE certification for school buses.
• Pass a Department of Transportation physical with drug and alcohol testing.
• Lift and carry 75 pounds across 40 feet.
• Own supply of hand and air tools needed for buses and trucks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair district buses and automotive equipment.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on all vehicles.
• Complete all required inspections and paperwork.
• Promote safety and maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
• Assist in training garage employees.
• Follow District Policy and traffic laws.
