Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a Journeyman carpenter with extensive field experience. The role focuses on constructing, fabricating and installing form work for concrete structures, reading blueprints, selecting materials and ensuring precise measurements.

Responsibilities include laying out forms, erecting scaffolds, handling hand and power tools, and maintaining safety standards on site. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; travel/height work may be required.

Qualifications

• Typically 3+ years documented field experience in carpentry.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and instructions.
• Plan work and select proper tools.
• Visualize objects three-dimensionally from plans/drawings.
• Work at heights and follow safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Builds wooden structures, forms and scaffolds according to blueprints or instructions.
• Examines blueprints or plans to determine materials and dimensions.
• Loads and transports materials to the work site.
• Prepares layout of forms and fixtures.
• Measures and marks materials; cuts to size with hand and power tools.
• Installs pre-fabricated window frames, doors and trim.
• Erects scaffolding, ladders and platforms; sets anchor bolts and braces forms.
• Performs routine maintenance and observes safety rules.
