Job summary

Fulton County Schools in Atlanta seeks a Maintenance Mechanic I, Roofer, to perform skilled roofing repairs and related semi-skilled tasks across carpentry, tile work, and general maintenance. You will read blueprints and specifications to repair and maintain various roof types and support installation projects as needed.

Ideal candidates hold a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Georgia Driver License (CDL eligibility preferred), and at least 2 years of roofing experience.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of roofing materials and repair techniques.
• Experience with installing floor/ceiling tiles and basic carpentry.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/schematics.
• Must understand safety practices for trades.
• Able to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes blueprints, schematics, drawings, layouts, or other specifications to complete tasks including roof repair and maintenance.
• Repair leaking roofs using acceptable methods; install floor tile, ceiling tile, and related components.
• Operate hand and power tools; maintain and clean work areas.
• Ensure tools and materials are stored properly; follow safety protocols.
