Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 months of experience; 1-year technical school certificate or equivalent preferred.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and manuals.
• Ability to calculate rate, ratios and percentages and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.
• Select type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications.
• Inspect worksite to determine obstructions and structural safety.
• Plan installation sequence to avoid obstructing activities.
• Cut, thread and bend pipe using appropriate tools.
• Assemble and install various metal and nonmetal piping and fittings.
• Join pipe by threading, caulking, welding, soldering, braze, fuse, or cemented joints.
• Test piping systems for leaks and ensure proper operation.
• Weld holding fixtures to structural steel and maintain professional appearance.
• Assist Foreman or Superintendent with other duties as assigned.
