Job summary

HK Contractors is seeking an Experienced Pipe Layer to support highway, utility, and site plant crews in Idaho. The role involves multiple manual tasks, assisting with trenching, pipe laying and equipment operation under supervision.

The position requires a valid driver’s license and prior excavation experience. Travel to various site locations is expected as part of daily work, with an emphasis on safety and teamwork on a demanding construction site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of experience on excavation sites and experience laying water, sewer and storm drain preferred.
• Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently within designed parameters.
• Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging.
• Shovel earth to prepare ground trenches for pipes.
• Build couplings, connectors, and mechanical joints for piping installations.
• Set up and move laser level and pipe lasers; assist other crew members as needed.
