Job summary

Knife River Corporation - Mountain West in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Pipe Layer to join our construction crews. This role helps install and repair water, stormwater, and sewer pipe systems, align and position pipes, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

You will follow blueprints, use levels or lasers to check slopes, dig trenches, and safely perform duties with emphasis on teamwork and staying safe on site. Valid driver's license required; CDL is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to work flexible shifts.
• Must be willing to work in all weather conditions.
• Valid driver''s license; CDL is a bonus.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing.
• Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers.
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue.
• Cover pipes with earth or other materials.
• Cut pipes to required lengths.
• Dig trenches to required depths, by hand or using trenching tools.
• Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools.
• Install and repair water, stormwater & sewer structures and pipe systems.
• Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints, and coordinating layouts with supervisors.
• Always work safely and take action to prevent any unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
• Job requires steady to intermittent physical activity including standing, stooping kneeling, climbing, walking on uneven ground, shoveling, and raking
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor
