Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a dedicated Painting Technician to prepare and paint walls, ceilings, woodwork, and furniture across facilities. You will protect adjacent areas, handle materials, and maintain a clean work environment.

The role involves moving items as needed and performing basic drywall touch-ups. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of painting experience; three years preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of painting experience.
• Three (3) years of painting experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surfaces to be painted by washing, scraping, patching and sanding.
• Tapes and finishes joints of drywall and applies joint compound.
• Moves furniture to access work areas.
• Applies prime and finish coats of paint and stain.
• Delivers paint and materials to work sites and returns them at day’s end.
• Protects adjacent areas and equipment with drop cloths or masking tape.
• Paints, stains, shellacs or varnishes woodwork and surfaces.
• Uses brush, roller or spray gun for applications.
• Works from ladders or scaffolds as needed.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area and reports any unsafe conditions.
• Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition and follows safety rules.
