Job summary

Polk County Schools is seeking a skilled Painter to apply paint, varnish, and related finishes to buildings, fixtures, and equipment on multiple school sites in Polk County. The role involves erecting scaffolding, using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment, and keeping daily work records.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED (trade school accepted) and a valid driver''s license; 3 years of experience is preferred. Physical tasks and travel across sites are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school, completion of GED, or trade school.
• Must have a valid driver''s license appropriate to the vehicles assigned to the trade and be qualified to drive a School Board vehicle.
• Three(3) years full-time practical experience under the supervision of a licensed paint contractor is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Applies coats of paint, varnish, stains, enamel or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces.
• Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
• Keeps daily records and logs of work performed; drives between Polk County job sites.
