Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of the tenth grade or higher education equivalent is required.
• Two years journeyman painting experience is preferred, with substitution allowed by related education.
• A valid Texas driver’s license and ability to lift up to 60 pounds are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surfaces for paint by scraping, sandpapering and cleaning.
• Repairs plastering and fills holes in sheetrock.
• Applies paints and other finishes with brushes and spraying equipment.
• Mixes and matches paints, varnishes, lacquers and shellacs.
• Refinishes and restores interior and exterior painted surfaces.
• Follows prescribed health and safety requirements.
