Job summary

East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center in East Longmeadow, MA, is seeking a Cook to support the Food Service Director in planning and directing the dietary department’s operations. You will prepare and portion meals, wrap and label prepared foods, and rotate supplies daily to maintain quality and safety.

Responsibilities include training and supervising production staff, ensuring compliance with menus, and performing sanitation duties in line with health regulations.

Qualifications

• Prior kitchen experience preferred.
• Ability to follow planned menus and recipes.
• Strong attention to food safety and sanitation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Food Service Director in planning and directing the dietary department operations.
• Prepare and portion meals to meet menu guidelines and quality standards.
• Wrap, label and date prepared foods for storage; rotate inventory as items are delivered.
• Prepare meals according to planned menus and ensure proper food storage and rotation.
• Maintain sanitation standards in kitchen and dining areas in accordance with health regulations.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff and production personnel as needed.
