Job summary

Emerald Nursing and Rehab Columbus is seeking a dedicated Night Cook to join our kitchen team. This full-time position (12pm-8pm) with every other weekend supports nutritious meal preparation for residents in a skilled nursing facility.

You will follow dietary guidelines, prepare meals, and collaborate with the dietary team to meet individual dietary needs. Responsibilities include recipe adherence, kitchen safety, inventory assistance, and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification or degree preferred.
• Proven cook with experience in healthcare or institutional settings is a plus.
• Able to follow dietary guidelines and specialized diets as required.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a diverse care environment.

Responsibilities

• Meal preparation according to planned menus and dietary guidelines.
• Follow standardized recipes and portion control for consistency.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety compliance.
• Adjust recipes for resident dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Assist in inventory and stocking of supplies.
• Collaborate with dietary staff to review menus and resident needs.
• Record temperatures, portions and dietary modifications as required.
• Participate in ongoing training on food safety and best practices.
