Job summary

Marlora Post Acute Rehabilitation Hospital in Long Beach, California is seeking a skilled Cook to prepare a wide variety of meals for residents, staff, and visitors. You will plan meal services, follow menus, and ensure meals are served safely and attractively.

The ideal candidate has volume food production experience, a Serve-Safe certification, and strong teamwork to support an efficient kitchen operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in commercial/volume food preparation required.
• Serve-Safe Certification required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the spoken English language.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a wide variety of foods for residents/patients, employees, and visitors.
• Plan and coordinate meal services to meet mealtime schedules.
• Prepare food according to menus and recipes, and ensure that all food is served safely and attractively.
• Direct other Food and Nutrition Services employees in the absence of the Food Service Director and Assistant Food Service Director/Chef Manager.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to sanitation regulations and practices.
• Perform related duties and cleaning duties, as assigned.
• Collaborate with Food Service Director and Assistant Food Service Director/Chef Manager to ensure effective food service operations.
