Job summary

GlenBrook Health Center in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a part-time Cook I/II to prepare and serve meals per standardized recipes. You will support food production, ensure quality and safety, and assist with events and patient meals as needed.

The role emphasizes adherence to dietary guidelines and collaboration with Chefs and supervisors to maintain high service standards in a skilled nursing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, retirement community or healthcare setting.
• Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet
• Culinary education preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve all food items per standardized recipes, including soups, stocks, sauces, and various cooking techniques.
• Prepare and serve meals according to physician orders when applicable.
• Assist in restocking, rotation of supplies, inventory management and food safety.
• Ensure quality, temperature, and presentation of all food items.
• Assist with coaching and onboarding of staff.
