Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Current food manager certificate required.
• At least 1 year of prior food prep experience in long-term care (preferred).
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
• Ability to understand measurements and conversions.
• Ability to plan and organize work, interpret instructions/recipes/standards.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Handle and prepare food in a sanitary manner.
• Prepare soups, stocks, sauces; braises and roasts per standardized recipes.
• Prepares and serves sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items per recipes.
• Prepares or directs preparation of all food per recipes and diet orders.
• Plans production to coordinate with meal serving hours, maintaining quality, temperature, and appearance.
• Determines food quantities and coordinates supplies for daily menus and timely restocking.
• Maintain dependability and punctuality per Attendance Policy.
