Job summary

Performance Food Group is hiring a Meat Cutter in West Salem, WI. You will portion cut and package meats/seafood to exact sizes, clean tools, and ensure GMP/compliance. Start between 6am and 7am, Monday through Friday, with a $20/hour base pay based on experience. The role requires standing most of the shift and lifting heavy items.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: 1+ year Meat Cutter Experience or butcher, chef or Culinary/knife skills experience.
• Skills: Knowledge of portion control practices and be familiar with the various cuts and types of meat products.
• Skills: Ability to stand continuously for 8 - 10 hours; lifting 10 - 60 pounds, 60+ pounds occasionally.
• Skills: Repetitive upper-extremity work with twisting/bending at the waist and extended reaching at various levels.
• Skills: Work in damp, cool environment (40-45°F) with possible freezer exposure and flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Portion cut, slice and package meats/seafood to specifications.
• Clean and sanitize tools; maintain GMP and safety standards.
• Cut meat portions with band saw or slicer; check weights.
• Remove scraps and assist with general housekeeping; other duties as assigned.
