Job summary

JSM Living in Champaign, IL is seeking a reliable Carpenter to join our property maintenance team. You will perform repairs, framing, trim, drywall, door hardware, and general carpentry tasks across residential and commercial properties, ensuring safety and quality.

The role requires at least 2 years of carpentry experience, a valid driver's license, a high school diploma, and the ability to work with maintenance software.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of carpentry or construction experience.
• Fundamental carpentry knowledge and ability to perform detailed work independently.
• Comfort with electronic communication and work order systems (email, mobile devices).
• Ability to work at heights and use ladders safely (6 feet+).
• SkyTrak/Lull certification is a plus but not required.
• Flexibility for occasional overtime and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry repairs and maintenance: surface repairs, framing, trim, drywall, doors and hardware.
• Prepare job sites, materials, and tools for daily projects.
• Complete daily work orders with accuracy and efficiency.
• Operate, maintain, and clean power and manual carpentry tools.
• Document time, labor, and materials for projects.
• Communicate with colleagues and other departments to ensure timely completion.
• Participate in on-call maintenance rotation and overtime as needed.
• Provide support during peak workload periods.
