Job summary

Fairlawn in Champaign-Urbana invites an experienced Renovation Carpenter to join our Project Management Department. You will perform framing, door setting, trim installation, and hardware, handling a wide range of remodeling duties while delivering excellent customer service.

You will work both independently and with the team on full residence remodels, repairs, and safety compliance, contributing to timely project completion and unit turnover.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Renovation experience including plumbing, appliances, electrical; roofing inspection/minor damage a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AppFolio, and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal communication and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and with a team, positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of carpentry tasks including framing walls, setting doors, cutting and installing trim, and hardware.
• Work independently and as part of a team to complete full residence remodels.
• Perform repairs including appliances and minor roofing; outsource when necessary.
• Paint, drywall, plaster, light masonry work; repair plumbing fixtures and woodwork.
• Install electrical and plumbing fixtures as needed for renovations.
• Assist the Carpenter Lead with daily job site operations and subcontractors.
• Complete demolition work and safely use hand and power tools; maintain equipment.
• Document time, expenses, and results; ensure safety and quality.
• Support residence turnover and maintain positive resident relations.
