Job summary

StoryPoint Schererville is seeking a dedicated Line Cook for a full-time shift from 10:30am to 7pm. You will prepare meals for residents and guests, following menus and standard recipes to ensure quality and consistency.

Requirements include a High School diploma (or equivalent), at least three years of line cook experience, and strong communication skills. You will work in a supportive kitchen team with opportunities for advancement and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma (or equivalent) or technical school.
• A minimum of three years of line cook experience and/or training.
• Good communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare food for residents, guests, and employees.
• Prepare food according to the planned menu using standard recipes.
• Plate food items following portion guidelines and garnishing instructions.
• Assist other kitchen staff as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Ensure that sufficient food is prepped and/or prepared.
• Communicate with supervisor of shortages or outages.
• Ensure freshness, cooking status, and proper seasoning of all foods served.
• Stock and clean station for next shift.
• Follows proper food rotation policies.
• Maintain a positive attitude that supports a team environment.
• Promote positive relations with residents, family members, and guests.
• Maintain safety, including universal precautions and sanitation standards.
