Job Responsibilities
- Operate various power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, grinders, impact guns, hydraulic jacks, and work with insulation.
- Frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Work on elevated surfaces such as scaffolding, atop units, in boiler systems (100+ feet), and in confined spaces.
- Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, diagrams, and sketches.
- Accurately read a measuring tape, follow written/verbal instructions, and communicate effectively with coworkers.
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and supervisors.
Minimum Age
21 years old for insurance purposes.
Qualifications
- Experience as a general laborer in the construction industry.
- Availability to travel throughout the US to job sites; travel expenses paid by IAFD.
- Knowledge of hand tools.
- Willingness to work with and around insulation, including installation.
- Supporting welders in the power industry is a plus.
- TWIC Card preferred.
- Basic Plus or OSHA 10 certification preferred.
Background Requirements
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Pass a pre-employment background check; no felonies within the last 7 years.
