Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. Operate various power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, grinders, impact guns, hydraulic jacks, and work with insulation.
2. Frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
3. Work on elevated surfaces such as scaffolding, atop units, in boiler systems (100+ feet), and in confined spaces.
4. Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, diagrams, and sketches.
5. Accurately read a measuring tape, follow written/verbal instructions, and communicate effectively with coworkers.
6. Communicate effectively with team members, management, and supervisors.

Minimum Age

21 years old for insurance purposes.

Qualifications

1. Experience as a general laborer in the construction industry.
2. Availability to travel throughout the US to job sites; travel expenses paid by IAFD.
3. Knowledge of hand tools.
4. Willingness to work with and around insulation, including installation.
5. Supporting welders in the power industry is a plus.
6. TWIC Card preferred.
7. Basic Plus or OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Background Requirements

1. Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
2. Pass a pre-employment background check; no felonies within the last 7 years.
