Westchester Medical Center Health Network is seeking a skilled Painter to maintain the cosmetic appearance of hospital facilities and equipment in all owned properties, complying with NY state building, life safety, and regulatory standards.

The role involves painting, plastering, wallpapering, tile work, surface preparation, material estimation, and safe handling of paints and equipment, with emphasis on safety, quality, and timely completion of tasks.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in painting, sheetrock, plastering and wallpapering.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid NYS driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled painting, plaster repair, tiling, and wallpapering as directed.
• Prepares surfaces and materials, ensures safe handling and conditions for finishes.
• Prepares furniture surfaces including sanding, staining, and varnishing.
• Completes and tracks work orders daily; urgent orders reported to supervisor.
• Estimates costs and materials; maintains par stock for emergencies.
• Keeps work areas and tools safe, clean, and organized; uses PPE as required.
• Remains available for snow removal and applies sand or salt as needed.
• Maintains proper attire; may work outside normal hours or on emergency calls.
• Responds to hospital emergencies per Fire Safety and Disaster Plans.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
