Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a skilled carpenter to measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials for framing, doors, cabinets and flooring. You will read blueprints, set layouts, and install fixtures, trims, and stairs while maintaining a safe, organized worksite. Expect to operate lifts and forklifts and work both independently and as part of a lean team.

You should have an A.A.S. or equivalent with 2+ years experience or military training with similar experience; a high school/GED

Qualifications

• A.A.S. degree or equivalent with 2+ years experience or military training with 2+ years experience
• High school/GED Journeyman credentials in applicable field
• Role may involve hazardous operations and require 18+ years of age
• 5+ years in a manufacturing setting (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Install and construct building frameworks: walls, floors, ceilings, doors, and fixtures.
• Read blueprints to determine layout, dimensions and materials.
• Use hand/power tools and machines to cut, shape, and assemble materials.
• Follow safety rules and maintain a clean, safe jobsite.
• Operate lifts and forklifts as needed for material movement and delivery.
• Move materials around site and clean up debris as required.
