Job summary

Indiana University Campus Facility Services in Indianapolis seeks a skilled carpenter to study plans, cut and install fixtures, and repair structural elements across campus buildings. You will work with hand and power tools on doors, trim, cabinets and glass, ensuring safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires journeyman carpentry experience or a DOL certificate and a valid driver's license, plus strong communication and organizational skills to serve IU's diverse campus

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5 years verifiable journey level carpentry experience or DOL apprenticeship certification.
• Valid driver's license and ability to be insured by IU upon hire.
• Proficient communication skills and professionalism.
• Demonstrates time management, accuracy and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints or plans to determine materials and dimensions.
• Build or repair doors, frames, floors, ceilings and fixtures.
• Install structures and fixtures using hand and power tools.
• Perform millwork, cabinetry and finish carpentry as directed.
• Measure, cut, fit, and install trim, molding and glass components.
• Ensure safety and quality; maintain tools and workspace.
