Job summary

J&J Worldwide Services is seeking a boiler operator to operate or maintain automatically fired boilers that generate steam for a healthcare facility.

The role involves monitoring boiler systems, reading gauges, performing repairs and preventive maintenance, and documenting water tests, fuel usage, and instrument readings. Candidates should have a high school diploma and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.
• Minimum of two years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and PPE procedures.
• General knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Must pass a government background screen for admittance to jobsite.

Responsibilities

• Operate or maintain automatically fired boilers to generate steam for the healthcare facility.
• Monitor operation of boiler systems to ensure proper functioning of steam generation, compressed air, hot water, and other systems.
• Observe boiler and auxiliary units' gauges, dials or indicators to detect malfunctions.
• Make repairs and perform preventive maintenance on boiler room equipment; ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
• Test and treat boiler feed water using specified chemicals.
• Maintain a log of meter readings, water test results, and fuel consumed.
• Assist in development of operation, safety, and maintenance procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
