Job summary

Forgent Power is seeking an Applications Engineer to support skidded liquid-filled transformers, switchgear cabinets, and inverters for solar and energy storage. You will interface with customers, review specs, generate quotes, and drive opportunities with engineering and sales teams.

The role emphasizes mechanical design, design-for-manufacturability, and documentation, with potential PE license beneficial.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2–5 years of professional experience in application or mechanical design engineering.
Experience in the solar or energy storage industries is a plus.
Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD; FEA modeling a plus.
Knowledge of electrical, control systems and data acquisition is a plus.

Responsibilities

Serve as a technical resource for mechanical integration and optimization of skidded assemblies.
Provide technical guidance on product selection, specifications, and customization.
Prepare customer-facing quotes and support the sales process with technical input.
Collaborate with design engineering and manufacturing to ensure manufacturability and targets.
Develop and maintain technical documentation such as drawings and data sheets.
