Job summary

The University of Georgia seeks a skilled Construction Worker III to operate skid steers, backhoes, excavators and other equipment in civil construction on campus projects in Athens. You will assist with grading, utilities, asphalt and concrete work, and support safety and traffic control on site.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related experience, with 3–4 years operating heavy equipment. A Class B CDL is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related experience.
• 3–4 years' experience operating moderate to heavy construction equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans.
• Knowledge of CDL rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operates skid steer, backhoe, excavator, dozer, dump trucks and other equipment on civil projects.
• Establishes elevations, grades and base for new pavement construction.
• Assists with utility installation, grading and drainage work.
• Performs traffic control and supports safety on site.
