Job summary

University of Georgia is seeking a Construction Worker III to support grounds and civil construction on the Athens campus. The role focuses on operating heavy equipment, reading civil plans, and performing skilled tasks in grading, utilities, and paving projects.

Work schedule is Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM with some night and weekend work; a Class B CDL is preferred. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States and may be required to work outside normal hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related experience.
• Preferred: 3-4 years operating moderate to heavy construction equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate skid steer, backhoe, excavator, dozer, dump trucks and other equipment as needed.
• Assist in asphalt placement and concrete forming/placement.
• Establish grade and trench for pipe installation; backfill and grade for new construction.
• Perform traffic control and assist in utilities installation.
• Respond to Grounds Department emergencies and weather-related duties.
